Rockford, IL - IceHogs General Manager Mark Bernard announced today that the team has signed forward Josh Lopina to a PTO (Professional Tryout Contract).

Lopina, 24, has recorded four points (2g,2a) in eight games this season with the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL. A native of Minooka, IL, the forward spent his first four professional years with the San Diego Gulls in the American Hockey League.

Lopina played in 203 AHL games with the Gulls and scored 44 points. Prior to turning pro, the righty played two seasons with UMass collegiately and was drafted 98th overall by the Anaheim Ducks.
